Position: Japanese Speaking Product Design Engineer

Required: Japanese Language Proficiency

Job Description:
•Design MEC (Micro Electronic Components) products and optimize performance while balancing manufacturability trade-offs.
•Work with other departments to design product for manufacturability.
•Provide technical support for MEC products within the company and to customer.
•Work directly with customers to understand current performance, issues, and opportunities for improvements.
•Develop and understand customer requirements for current and future programs.
•Effectively communicate design changes within company as well as to customers.
•Provide technical input to business unit for critical decisions and product strategy.
•Monitor MEC manufacturing issues and proactively incorporate improvements in current and new products.
•Characterize MEC performance with lab testing and correlate FEA results.
•Become a recognized technical MEC resource for the customer.
•Effectively use engineering tools such as CAD, FEA, spreadsheets, etc.
•Travel to customer sites as needed.

Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Master’s in Mechanical Engineering.
•Application and usage of critical engineering principals (statics, dynamics, vibrations, material mechanics, engineering economics, thermodynamics, design of experiments, statistics, etc.).
•Good communication and people skills.
•Good organization skills and the ability to multi-task.
•Experience with FEA, CAD, and Design Optimization techniques a plus.
•Previous customer interaction a plus.
