Saint Paul – Nagasaki Sister City Committee is sponsoring “Kite Flyers and Cherry Tree Celebration” on June 6 at Como Park.
The SPNSCC has invited Seikoo and Akiko Nakamura, kite flyers extraordinaire, to fly kites at the ‘kick off’ event, celebrating 60 years of friendship. (The SPNSCC has the oldest Sister City relationship with Asia, not just Japan).
SPNSCC and JETAAMN want to invite all JET alums and their families to this event.
At 9:00 a.m. – music, dance, and planting two more cherry trees in the grove by the Mannheimer Memorial (butterfly parking lot).
Then – the Nakamuras fly a string of 60 kites in honor of our 60th anniversary! You can create crafts and treats, too, for FREE!!
2 to 4 – the Nakamuras will lead a kite-making workshop at Conway Field. It would be wonderful to donate JUST $5 per kite but not required, HOWEVER, please pre-register since only 75 kite kits are available.

if you’d like to volunteer a few hours.
