On February 19th, JSA and JETAAMN present “HAFU” followed by a panel discussion, talking about the meaning behind the movie.Place: Room 230 in the Science Teaching and Student Services building (STSS) (222 Pleasant St. SE, Minneapolis).

“Hafu is a journey of discovery into the complex multicultural experience of mixed- race Japanese in modern day Japan. The film explores race, diversity, multiculturalism, nationality, and identity within the mixed-race community of Japan. And through this exploration, it raises the following questions: What does it mean to be hafu?; What does it mean to be Japanese?; What does it mean to be different in any sense?”
*Following the film will be discussion and an exclusive interview with one of the film’s directors, Ms. Megumi Nishikura!
