On March 11, 2011, something happened that, we as JET Alumni, will never forget. The Great East Earthquake of Japan, as it’s been named, occurred, and wreaked absolute havoc on the Tohoku region in Japan. Afterwards, benefits, fundraisers, and relief funds abounded. JETAA MN decided to have one of our own, and after some planning and organization, it came on April 16, 2011. It was an incredible event and was packed; we had a raffle, a silent auction, DJ sets by members of the local band, Solid Gold, free appetizers, and 1/2 off sake at moto-i. Thanks to moto-i, all of you, and other attendees, we were successful in raising over $4000!! This was contributed to our National JETAA Japan Earthquake Fund, adding to the more than $75,000 total that JETAA’s across the US raised. Thank you for making this such a truly awesome event!!
